I have deep Texas roots and very humble beginnings, born and raised in east Texas where I attended Texas public schools.   My college career was not a traditional one that began right after high school.  As personal tragedy struck, I was forced to enter directly into the workforce, and was blessed with an opportunity to work for corporate America.  After about 5 years, I chose to pursue my college career in an unconventional fashion, while working full time, and being a full time mom. I committed to life as a full time student earning two bachelor's degrees in Business Management & Marketing. I am a mom to two beautiful girls, a grandmother, a wife, a professional leader in the corporate world, and most importantly, I am a child of Christ.

 

I am a vested parent in this school district, we moved back to Texas a little more than 8 years ago choosing to plant our roots in Forney primarily for the highly rated schools and special needs program.  I have a 20 year old who graduated from Forney ISD, and a granddaughter who lives with me full time and attends Griffin Elementary.  I currently serve as a Forney ISD School Board Trustee, have been involved in the Culture of Excellence Committee, and am actively engaged with the parents and kids in our community.  I know my involvement and advocacy means everything to give our kids a voice.  All of our kids!

 

Academic success is achieved by starting with a firm foundation, connecting, relating and building relationships with our students.  I bring a fresh perspective, unique experiences, and a firm commitment to serve all our community.  My passion for our kids and working in their best interest fuels my desire to continue as part of this board.  My people skills, encouragement of open dialogue, and sincere willingness to listen make me a strong partner for our teachers, parents, and other stakeholders.
